I ran out of time last night. I am just going to update everyone on our house. As you know we bought our first home back in October. We moved in and started painting right away. It took me 7 coats of paint to get the kitchen white. Crazy talk I know, but it was dark blue and green when I started. I even used primer, but that was part of the 7 coats. Our next project was to replace the washer and dryer that came with the house. I never thought I would be excited to purchase a washer and dryer, but it was a very proud day for the Tenney's. Next we replaced the counter tops, well John and his Dad did. They turned out beautiful. We still have to grout a second time, but we are waiting for warmer weather and for a stretch of time we can go without using the kitchen sink so it will dry properly. Things that have gone wrong... the old owners decided it would be a good idea to paint the tub, and the paint is now coming off. It makes for a fun time in the bath tub. They also did not make sure the bathroom floor was level before they tiled and grouted, so now the grout is breaking apart in one spot. The door knob came off in our bathroom upstairs, so if you ever come over, dont shut the door if you use our bathroom up there. Oh yeah, the basement flooded when we had that big storm in December. That ended up being ok, no damage from it at all. It was made to flood and flow right out. Most recently we had an issue with the gas furnace. It just quit one night last week. John had turned it off because the weather was good and we were all outside playing in the yard. It got cold when the sun went down so we turned the heater on, but it would not come back on. We ended up getting a man out the next morning to fix it. He only charged us $50 to fix it, and did an awesome job. He actually found a big problem, it had a switch that did not belong there and was really hot. The dude that fixed it said we were very lucky to find it, and that it probably would have caught fire very soon. The furnace is directly under the stairs, and if we were in bed, there would have been no way to get out. Very scary. Oh, last week our house was broken into also!! We dont think he came in, or got very far if he did, but John and Bella were home in bed when it happen. Ok, I think that is all that has happened. Now we are going to get the garden going. Well if John will get up and get going. We need to move the fence in the back and move the gravel that is there. Then we are going to build an above ground garden. I am very excited to get it going, but dont want to do the work. I know, thats not how it works. I should get off the computer and go help him. I will keep you all updated, but that is it for now. I think I have figured out how to get pictures on here now, so as soon as I get pictures on the new computer, I will post them. Bye for now, Cori.
