Well we were successful with the social security card today. Now we just need to wait the 2-6 week waiting period. Oh well, live and learn.

Oh, by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!

Bella had her 6 week well child visit on Tuesday. She is doing really well, however is really big. She is in the 95th percentile of her age in height and weight(head circumference too!!! That means she is super smart!). Her birth weight was 8lbs 12.6oz, and exactly 6 weeks later it was 10lbs 12.5ozs, cool huh. She has grown 3 inches and her head has gone from 13 1/2 inches to 15 1/4 inches. We went back to my doctors office for my 6 week check up (I am also doing fine), and got to show her around. It was so cool to take her back and show them all the hard work we all did. They all asked if we were going to have another kid, and I told them to give me a year and we might see them again. Bella has been sleeping in her crib for about a week now, and that is very exciting to me. However last night and tonight are turning out to be very trying for me. She is very gassy tonight, and is crying a lot. It is hard to put her "away" while she does not feel good. I have a feeling that it is going to be a very long night.

We worked on the social security number today, and after 3 solid hours of driving all over town to get an endless amount of paper work, will be going at it again tomorrow to finish up. The down side to this is it will still be 2-3 weeks before I even get the stupid number. I just want to do my taxes!!

Well, just as I thought, she is up and crying. It is going to be a very long loud night. Wish me luck!!

So John was asking me today when we were going to get Bellas social security card, and I said that they would mail it to us. However, it did seem sort of weird that it has been 6 weeks and we have not gotten it. Well, the SS building is just down the road, so we stopped in to see what the hold up was, seeing how we can not claim her on our taxes until we have that number. Well, it would turn out that they have no record of her. It would seem that she does not exist. Tell that to my stretch marks!!!! Any way, it looks like we have to go to the hospital and get some sort of record to take to the SS office. I don't need her card right now, but I need the number. So, it looks like the government has me in a holding pattern. I guess all that new furniture can wait.

We all went for a walk at Capital Lake today. It was REALLY REALLY cold, but fun. It feels good to get outside again, we all have cabin fever. Don't know about you, but we are looking forward to spring. Who knows, maybe with spring will come a cleansing for all of us. It looks like the Punteney (and extended) family needs it. Thank you all for your words of hope about my Grandpa. He was a grumpy old man, but I did love him and will miss him.

Today I found out that my grandpa died on Friday of pancreatic cancer. I am not sure what is going on, but I feel that there are too many people getting sick in my life. I am having a hard time dealing with it all.

I feel really bad that my grandpa never met my children. I am not sure why, but it never crossed my mind to ever send him any pictures. The only peace of mind I am having with this, is that grandma is bitching at grandpa in heaven tonight. Together again. I only hope that they both forgive me for being so selfish. I love you grandma and grandpa. I will miss you.
